The Good Friday Liturgy
This event ended on April 3, 2026.
The Liturgy of Good Friday is unique in the Church’s year. The Liturgy of the Word climaxes with the dramatic reading of the Passion Gospel of John, and is followed by the Solemn Prayers for the church and the world, and the Veneration of the Cross. Finally, Holy Communion is received from the Sacrament reserved at the Eucharist of Maundy Thursday, then the celebration ends in silence.
