Pianist Andrejs Osokins and the Kremerata Lettonica string trio invite audiences to a chamber music evening titled “Vasks, Schumann and Ķeniņš.”
The concert programme features Pēteris Vasks’s string trio Lonely Angel — a deeply emotional and spiritually uplifting work dedicated to peace and compassion; Robert Schumann’s impassioned Piano Quartet No. 1, widely regarded as one of the masterpieces of Romantic chamber music and composed during a period when Schumann sought a balance between piano virtuosity and the unity of the string ensemble; and Tālivaldis Ķeniņš’s Piano Quartet No. 1, in which European musical traditions intertwine with the intonations of Latvian melodic heritage.
